Fortune Cookie Fails Me

FORTUNE COOKIE FAILS ME

I just had to share this moment with everyone! Cuz when I was a kid fortune cookies were really fortunes....now they kind of tell you what to do. It's so sad and mine just pretty much happened to call me fat the other day! :/

All The Right Moves

Oh man I have been waiting a long time to put these pics up! We took these pics in earlier February, if I remember correctly. They had recently gotten a new band member and needed new photos and I mentioned this concept to them and they dug it. It totally goes with their fun and quirky personalities and music.

This shoot took a long time. I actually walked in circles a billion times around these guys to get the yarn around. I made myself dizzy, haha.

I photographed the group image on a white background and all of the individuals on a blue background and later changed the hue to green in a couple. During the individual photos there was one person on each side of the member I was photographing, holding the yarn just below shoulder level. This made it much easier in post.

Their band name is All The Right Moves. Feel free to check them out at www.myspace.com/alltherightmoves

"Experienced/Identify"

So I have been waiting in long anticipation to upload my latest Band Press images, but I have to wait! Grrrr! :) So for now I am posting new images from one of my self projects, "Experienced/Identify". Here are just two from the last weekend I shot of this event. This was the best lighting of the three days at Ft. McCoy and it was Blistering Cold! The sun only came out right before sunset for a maximum of an hour and I was lucky enough to be in the right area on post when it did!

Write This Down -Fog Shoot

So for the longest time I have wanted to do something with my fog machine. Then Write this down wanted some promos done so I asked them if I could try this small idea and use my fog machine. It was much more difficult than I thought to get the fog to show. I probably should have used some lights in the front but not shining on them, lights to just shine through the fog cuz the front is a little bare. Yet the fog was so thick in the room. I didn't really know what to expect but I now know for next time. Either way it was a fun experimental shoot and they really liked the images.

Anyhew they wanted really dramatic and tough looking. For my first time with the fog machine I would say it went well. KUDOS to their tour manager for being the fog sprayer!! Couldn't have done it alone!

you can check out their tunes at www.myspace.com/writethisdown if you are interested. They are a Christian band from Minneapolis MN.

Danyel came back again for some more images for her modeling portfolio. Doing this much studio work is a lot different compared to what I normally shoot. But we always have fun because she is so funny and easygoing and a wonderful model to shoot. During this shoot we changed lighting many times but got, I think, 5 different styles of images. These three are just my favorite of the day!

I gotta say she is such a trooper for how little space I have for us to do studio shots in!

This is my purty sis! Gotta love her!

Identify/Military

I apologize for putting these images up so late. I put them up on my myspace and forgot to place them on my blog.

I did this military series for a self project of mine, but also for the Public Affairs office for the Army Reserve. I really wanted to take pictures in a sense that helped the viewer understand and be able to relate to the soldier in some way. Then published a book which is for purchase on Blurb if you are interested.

I feel that soldiers are put on a pedistal, and by being a soldier myself I, also, want to portray the more 'common' 'down to earth' side. We, soldiers, are just like everyone else. We all learn what we know then do our job well. Everyone has a different specialty and ours is just to protect our country, but we do everything else just like you do.

Quote by me from my book:

"From an infant to an adult, or a civilian to a soldier, we all crawl before we walk."

You can find my book for sale at www.blurb.com the title of my book is "Identify".
