Noone can define unpredictable like a newborn baby can. This little 6 day old guy, Noah Anderson, was the epitome of unpredictableness on Friday during our photo shoot. He was a little sleeper when he got in the studio but as soon as we moved him he didn't stop for about an hour and a half.

We fed him many many times and normally he falls asleep but not this time. He was pretty awake. So awake that the pee'd on mom and dad. I had taken the temperature down in the studio for him and thought I was getting warm and sweating until at one point I realized he was peeing on me too, lol. It is not the full experience without that. But trust me the excitement did not end there. Since he did not have a diaper on he, also, thought it convenient to poop in mommy's hand through the loose threaded blanket he was in. Jillian was quite the trooper through that experience, haha.

MORALE OF THE STORY...

Babies + food + new environment = keep your shoes on in the studio

Babies + patience + time + love = HAPPY ENDING

Wild Colonial Bhoys - Promotional

I am so Overdue on this. Back in October I photographed this Irish Pub band called the "Wild Colonial Bhoys" ( http://wildcolonialbhoys.com/ )

I had not known any of them, maybe seen one in passing and when they came to the studio they had no idea what to expect. Some of them seemed sketchy to be paying so much for a shoot and others confident I would figure it out.

Normally, before a band promotional photo shoot I like to discuss ideas, but these boys had a tour and many other things to worry about. So I had free reign to help them come up with a conceptual idea that would fit their style and personalities. ( Not gunna lie....I was kinda nervous) I went out and bought a fog machine and hoped they would like my envisionment of an Irish pub band...and this is what we came up with. By the end of the shoot I was so relieved, because they all seemed confident in the shoot and were very impressed...Exactly what I needed, LOL

As a photographer you are always confident in your own art but your beauty in art may differ from others. In this case, five others. I am so glad to had won all their hearts. They are a super funny and relaxed crowd!

assistant started with fog behind the couch and then came around to the front

Jami and Chris Nordman Wedding, 09.11.2010

There is no way I can explain this wedding. Jami and Chris are such a happy couple and the most easy going people I know. The wedding was completely stress free and the couple just went with the flow of things as they came. I am so blessed to have been trusted so completely much to document this important day of theirs. Not once did they ever question what I suggested or why I was doing something.

I have never worked with such an amazing bride. Granted I have been blessed with many wonderful ...rides but none like this.

As you see in the images it was a harsh sun light day with not much shade so I went and worked with the light as I could. Some shadows may be harsh but it compliments the style of which I had captured everyone.

Not going to lie I was nervous about the location, but in the end I am greatly happy. Thanks to my wonderful Bridal Party the images turned out well. I just want to thank all of you for being so wonderful and fun and willing to go from being dead sticks to scandalously taking over the groom and so forth.

This wedding was one where I wish I would have had a ride home so I could have kept hanging out with them...
